Community Outreach

The University of Michigan's Trauma Burn Center's Community Outreach programs were developed to address the medical and social consequences of injury and disability. Prevention programs led by Trauma & Burn Nurse Educators address preventable injuries to children, adolescents, and adults. As a Level 1 Trauma Center we are committed to community education on the consequences and treatment of traumatic injury.

The Trauma Burn Injury Prevention Team developed a wide variety of Injury Prevention programs:

• Real Life, Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Prevention Program
• Straight Talk, Juvenile Fire Injury Prevention Program
• Pre-hospital Trauma Conference
• Senior Safety Program

In addition the team presents at Community health fairs, fire safety open houses and school programs K-12. They coordinate professional conferences on a local, state and national level. Request an outreach presentation
