CLINICAL CARE COORDINATORSTThe Trauma Burn Program has three Clinical Care RN Coordinators. The Outpatient Coordinator is Cora Yee. She is mainly responsible for the day-to-day function of the clinic and follow up on all patients that have been cared for by the Trauma Burn Service. These functions include providing telephone triage for patients, outside physicians, and facilities, providing patient care, and patient education. She is also responsible for orientation of residents and medical students to the Trauma Burn Clinic. The Inpatient Coordinators are Britt Elder-Tennyson and Karen Spaulding. They act as liaisons between members of the multidisciplinary team, which includes but is not limited to physical therapy, occupational therapy, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, social work and practice management. They attend rounds with the physicians in the morning and gather data/information regarding the patients’ status. This information is then shared with and reciprocated from the appropriate team member(s). Their responsibilities include data collection, protocol monitoring and compliance. The inpatient clinical care coordinators are at the coordinating center of the multidisciplinary team process to assist and assure resource management and appropriate discharge plans and needs. They are also responsible for orientation of the residents and medical students to the Trauma Burn Service. |
