Susan M. Polan is the Development Events Specialist for the Injury Prevention Team in the Trauma Burn Center and Division of Acute Care Surgery. Susan has been with the Trauma Burn Center for 9 years. Susan's many responsibilities include her work as the Development Events Specialist and Kids Burn Camp Coordinator, as well as assisting with the Real Life drug and alcohol and Straight Talk fire prevention programs held at the University of Michigan Health System. She works very closely with local firefighters and the community in an effort to raise money for the burn center. The focus of her fundraising effort is to ensure financial support for the many areas of the Burn Center that benefit our patients and families, as well as the Injury Prevention Community Outreach Fund. With the generosity and support of the firefighters and community, we continue to develop and share greater knowledge for the patients and families we serve. Our goal is to prevent injuries before they occur. Susan is a member of the American Burn Association (ABA). |
